Sad, Sad, Day

I just heard that one of the coolest guys and celebrities has died. The croc. hunter was killed today by a sting ray out on the Great Barrier Reef. I just can't believe it. He was larger than life and to hear of the way he died, it just doesn't seem far. You gotta think "well at least he died doing what he loved". But then I think about his super cute kids and it just seems so sad. Steve Irwin was just one of those guys every kid wishes was there. They were always together and he included them in everything. To have a dad that was that full of life to just be gone in the blink of an eye.

Some people didn't like the way he did things; said he was too rough, a fake, just a tree-hugging clown. I don't think the people who said these things every watced him in the context of his show. He always had a reason for why he had to wrangle or catch whatever animal it was he was catching. And so what if he did it with flare. Frankly, if being a cheesey "croc hunter" gets kids and people interested in animals and conservation more power to him. As for that thing with his baby, you can tell he was just trying to get him comfortable around he animals, to not be afraid.

What is really iritating is watching and waiting to hear more information on those shtiy-ass 24-hour news station. One minute they are gushing about Justin Timberlake's transformation from boy-band to a slick looking performer (I think I is going for the GFeorge Michael look). Then 2 seconds later they go back to Stev Irwin's death. Don't these news people realize how insensitive and phoney that looks.. I have to wonder if those news anchors have any real emotions in them at all. To sit there and pretend to feel sympathy for Steve's wife and family, it pisses me off. Then they had a phone interview with Jack Hanna...who I do believe didn't even like Steve Irwin because of the previous mentioned reasons.

With that parting note, good bye Crocodile Hunter...I for one will truely miss you!
