One highly under-rated band of the 90's was Bland Melon. You may remember them from their single "No Rain" (with the bee-girl). Well, for us BM fans, their music had way more depth than that song: "Soul One," "Tones of Home", and "Changes" being my favorites.
Unfortunately, their masterful lead singer, Shannon Hoon (also of Guns-n-Roses "Don't Cry" fame) died from a drug overdose in 1999...thus ending another great band the 90's era of legendary music.
UNTIL NOW...
The original band members have acquired themselves a fantastic new front man, Travis Warren, and have put together their first album in 10 years. The album For My Friends will be released in April. But sooner than that, the single "Wishing Well" will be out March 3rd. They even have a tour going on. Check out their myspace page to her their new stuff and make a new friend. http://www.myspace.com/blindmelon
I highly recommend revisiting Blind Melon again. If you never had the pleasure in the past than I even high-ly-er recommend checking out their 90's releases for some great jam band-comfort rock. Not to mention Hoon's collaboration with G-N-R on Use Your Illusion I & II was some of that bands best stuff.

Florida's NOT so Super Tuesday
Last Tuesday I cast my meaningless vote. I don't mean that pessimistically, in Florida it is fact. I am a registered democrat and thank to pig headed DNC heads and our manipulative Republican state government my vote meant nothing...zero...no delegates...no candidate campaigning...nothing. I didn't vote for any of those yaahoo's in our state legislature, I didn't sk for the primaries to be moved up, and I didn't ask Howard Dean to penalize ME by taking my right to vote.
Really the only reason I went out to the polls was because 3 days prior, I found out there was one proposal to vote on, about property taxes. Florida wanted to lower property taxes for the rich (not my level of housing) and take money away from my job...education...also fire and police. and guess what IT PASSED because more republicans went out to vote (because their overall vote meant something) and republicans are rich selfish assholes.
So in review, I cast a vote that meant nothing, the proposal I voted NO on passes, my boy John Edwards drops out of the race, I won't get lower property taxes, AND my school will have even less money than it does now (and we have a million less already). FLORIDA, a great place for rich, assholes with no kids, who don't mind if their house burns down or they are killed by robbers who were once firemen, cops, and teachers.
